Any patient with an appointment through the Public Health System, whether it is in-hospital or outsourced.
Ages 7+
Patients must be able to independently get in and out of the bus. Wheelie walkers can be accommodated.

Pickup times vary depending on the earliest appointment.
Patients will be contacted by the bus driver the afternoon before to confirm their pickup time.
All patients travel together, & buses depart Mackay once the last appointment is finished.
Please aim to have early appointments where possible.
The service provides transport to Mackay Hospital, and patients with outsourced appointments will be dropped directly at their appointment location.
Patients returning from Mackay Hospital should wait at the Transit Hub for collection.
One way travel for surgical appointments are also ok.
Carer’s can travel with patients - please advise at time of booking to allow for seating.

For the Cannonvale Bus, the return journey is usually no later than 2:30pm.

Patients from Bowen can be taken from Proserine Hospital and returned to Proserpine Hospital.

Patients and Staff must contact our office on 07 4885 5915 to arrange transport.

Available Monday-Friday, 8.00am-3.00pm. Ask at the Information Desk or call 07 4885 5935. This service is only offered at the Mackay Base Hospital.
Community Donated goods
We welcome handmade blankets, beanies, booties, scarves and other soft items to support patients across our hospital services.
These donations are used for:
Premature and newborn babies
Oncology patients
Patients receiving end‑of‑life care
Each item helps provide comfort, warmth and dignity during a hospital stay. Makers of all skill levels are welcome to contribute.
