With the support of ABC Heavy Engineering, Rob Kidd is marching for money across Mackay, with the goal of raising the rest of the funds necessary to finish the Ronald McDonald House Charity Family Rooms at the Mackay Base Hospital.

Currently, the nearest family rooms are located in Townsville. This means locals from Mackay and The Whitsundays must leave home, and relocate to ensure they receive the medical treatment necessary to live. Having dedicated family rooms at the Mackay Base Hospital means our locals stay local, especially in times when being home with family is more important than ever.

In response, Rob Kidd will rack up the steps each weekday after the breakfast show and weekends as well. The target is 385km, symbolic of the distance between Mackay and Townsville Base Hospitals where patients currently have to travel in order to receive adequate treatment. That being said, he won’t stop till his hunger to help is satisfied!
