Television made by kids in hospital, for the kids in hospital

Juiced TV is an Australian first entertainment initiative that benefits the health and wellbeing of sick kids and their families in hospital, one episode at a time. Thanks to Give Me 5 For Kids, Mackay Hospital Foundation launched Juiced TV in Mackay in 2018 and since then it has directly touched the lives of patients and their families in Mackay Base Hospital by improving the hospital journey and creating a unique way for them to engage and be entertained.

Every week the talented Juiced Crew create days of 'Hands on Happiness', to create the content for 25-minute episodes of kids’ TV that is broadcast each week. These are filming days which give patients and their siblings the chance to star in their own TV show. Each year the Juiced Crew travel to Mackay and dedicate a week to filming content in our hospital featuring our local kids.

The Juiced Crew also create amazing experiences outside of hospital walls for patients and siblings, often bringing to life special requests from patients such as meeting their favourite sporting or big screen idols, and swimming with dolphins.

One of the best things about these experiences outside of hospitals walls, is that everything is filmed and broadcast within a Juiced TV episode, creating a memory to share far and wide, and last many years to come.

The Juiced TV team co-ordinate and produce all days of 'hands on happiness' on location at the hospital ranging from musical workshops, cooking, animal encounters and hospital staff profiles, and of course the special occasions where patients meet their favourite celebrities. Some of our favourite Mackay episodes have featured local personalities Triple M’s Jay & Dave, Mackay Cutters, Kay from Muscle Garden and volunteers and staff from Mackay Base Hospital.

The next exciting phase of Juiced TV will soon be released, which will allow patients to create their own content for inclusion in Juiced TV episodes, regardless of which hospital they're in.

Juiced TV is based at the Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane, and the regional service 'Juiced Box' is available to the children's wards at The Townsville Hospital, Mackay Base Hospital, and Bundaberg Base Hospital. Juiced TV aim to expand their service into every major paediatric hospital, connecting patients and families across the country.
