The Kooyong Social Sporting Club has donated $2,500 to the Foundation, to benefit the Children’s Ward at Mackay Base Hospital. Club President Gloria Smith, Treasurer Jacqui Voois and Secretary Rachel McCarthy visited hospital yesterday to present the generous cheque.
The donation will be used to purchase a paediatric air mattress that will provide relief to children with chronic and palliative illness.
Weekly member’s draws, raffles and Goose Club raffles were held to raise the funds for the Foundation. The efforts of the club’s 53 members were supported by the Kooyong Hotel.
This was the first year the club has donated to the Foundation, with aims to next year raise funds for a hospital attendant couch. The couch converts into a bed and would be used by those visiting loved ones in palliative care.

The donations received by the Foundation are given to the specialised area or hospital that YOU have chosen. If a hospital or area is not chosen in the MHHS district donations are allocated to ‘greatest needs’.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
