The annual Give Me 5 for Kids campaign held by Sea FM Mackay & the Whitsundays raised an overwhelming $29,507.65 for the Foundation. The donation will be used to purchase paediatric equipment for the Child and Adolescent Units at Mackay Base and Proserpine Hospitals.
Ms Helen Alvers, Nurse Unit Manager, Child and Adolescent Unit, Mackay Base Hospital said, “Without donations such as these from the Give Me 5 for Kid’s campaign we would not be able to purchase equipment that enables us to make the stay of children in hospital a relatively easy and happy occasion.” She said the equipment to be purchased would reduce the length of stays for babies in hospital.
Various fundraising events and activities were held throughout the month of June as part of the campaign, including the popular Drive in Movie Night and Jay & Dave’s Wheelie Big Wheelie Bin Walk. Centro Whitsundays and Caneland Central also organised their own Ultimate Raffles.

The donations received by the Foundation are given to the specialised area or hospital that YOU have chosen. If a hospital or area is not chosen in the MHHS district donations are allocated to ‘greatest needs’.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
