Inspired by the fantastic care that Allan McLauchlan’s grandson Braxton received at the Special Care Nursery of the Mackay Base Hospital this year, he decided to organise a charity golf event to show his appreciation.
Allan McLauchlan from 888 Poker League joined forces with the Mackay Golf Club and Powerhouse Ford to raise money for the Mackay Hospital Foundation in support of the purchase of an Open Care System for the Special Care Nursery. The inaugural “Brax Charity Golf Day” was held last Friday and raised nearly $13,000 towards the purchase of the necessary equipment.
Allan McLauchlan, event organiser said: “888 Poker League would like to thank the event sponsor Powerhouse Ford and the Mackay Golf Club along with the numerous other sponsors of the day who made this event a reality. It was a fabulous golf day with 36 teams taking to the course, numerous golf raffles and a hole-in-one shoot out to win a Ford. Unfortunately no one was that lucky”.

Proceeds of both golf days will go to the Mackay Hospital Foundation. Allan McLauchlan:” we see no better opportunity than to work with the Mackay Hospital Foundation for the benefit of the whole community. This is a local charity that supports our hospital with the extras that fall outside of government budget. We are proud to have raised $13,000 to support the Special Care Nursery of our local hospital".
