The Mackay Hospital Foundation thanked the Blue River Lions Club for its incredible fundraising over the past three years, with morning tea and a tour of the Mackay Base Hospital. As part of the tour, members were shown first-hand the positive impacts their hospital purchases have made to patients. They also witnessed demonstrations of how the medical equipment is used.
The club’s donations of almost $27,000 have purchased a wide range of items for the Mackay Base Hospital, including televisions and headsets for the Renal Unit and wheelchairs and a portable oxygen machine as loan equipment for cancer services. A mobility chair for the Medical Ward is the next piece of equipment to be purchased with the club’s generous donations.
Club President Ross Chisholm said, “Blue River Mackay Lions Club is proud to be associated with the Mackay Hospital Foundation. We have worked together since the inception of both organisations to support the lesser known areas of the hospital who require support.”
Thank you Blue River Mackay Lions Club!
