Patients and visitors to Sarina Hospital are now switched on to digital television thanks to a grant of 10 TV’s from Sarina Community Bank branch.The television sets will be placed in wards, patient waiting areas, allied health and the community room.
“The bank is very committed to supporting the community and they felt the hospital was of benefit to the whole community,” Sarina Community Bank Branch manager Roanna Brady said.
The television sets have larger screens to assist impaired patients while headphones will ensure volume does not disturb other clients at the hospital. “Without the support of Sarina Community Bank branch we would have found it difficult to replace the old portable television sets,” Maura Keogh, Director of Nursing at Sarina Hospital said.
“At Sarina Community Bank Branch we recognise that health care, schools, sporting and community groups are an important part of the community,” said Sarina Community Bank Company Chairman, Ralph Johnson. “That’s why we show our support in many different ways such as the grant for the televisions to Sarina Hospital.”
Sarina Community Bank Branch will celebrate its 7th birthday in June and to date has invested in excess of $386,000 to the local community. “Support of Sarina Community Bank Branch is vital to help us to continue such local initiatives as the helping to the Sarina hospital to go digital with its televisions just by doing your banking with us,” Mr Johnson said.

It just shows the real and positive impact donations to local charities can have on frontline services and standards of care.”

The donations received by the Foundation are given to the specialised area or hospital that YOU have chosen. If a hospital or area is not chosen in the MHHS district donations are allocated to ‘greatest needs’.
