A Dynamic Non-Profit Board

The Mackay Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the board.  Since its launch in 2011, the Foundation has grown with a dynamic board of members leading the not-for-profit organisation into a prosperous future. Government funding provides essential health care but it cannot pay for everything. The Mackay Hospital Foundation fills the gap between what the government provides and the greater needs of our communities to support our local hospitals.

Mrs. Annabel Dolphin, Director of Miles Dolphin Consulting Group and her appointment bring experience from a number of independent non-executive board roles and leadership positions across the private, government and resources sectors. Possessing a unique blend of business, human resources and directorship experience, Mrs. Dolphin has extensive business strategy, human resource management and leadership expertise. Mrs. Dolphin said;

“I am looking forward to working with the board and to contribute to the on-going success that the Mackay Hospital Foundation has achieved for our community”.

Mr. Peter Tait and his appointment bring accounting, taxation, and finance expertise with a strong business philosophy. Mr. Tait is a recently retired third generation Director of S.H Tait & Co, a well-respected Chartered Accountancy Firm in Mackay.  The firm has been in business for 90 years and has grown to service the Central Queensland and beyond. Mr. Peter Tait said;

"I am excited to have the opportunity to work with other Board members on this great local charity which provides fundraising support to public hospitals in the Mackay region".

Mr Michael Jones previously sits on the board but will serve as the new Chairman for the Mackay Hospital Foundation.  Mr. Rob Rasmussen will resume his position as Deputy Chairman with the other roles being taken up by Mrs. Antoinette Morton, Mr. Pierre Viljoen, Mrs. Terry Johnson, Mrs Donna Rasmussen, Mrs. Margaret Birch, Ms. Jill Grant and Mrs. Robyn Nikolsky.

 Mackay Hospital Foundation Board Chairman, Mr. Jones said;

“I congratulate the new board members on their appointments and thank the current board members for their continued service.  Currently, I am enjoying the new role and the exciting challenges it brings with the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.  I choose to give back through the Mackay Hospital Foundation as it is a local, community driven charity supporting the Mackay Base Hospital and all public hospitals in the Mackay Hospital & Health Service district”.
